San Diego is right on the border with Mexico and directly opposite the Mexican city of Tijuana. You can cross the border for a day in a slightly tourist skewed Mexican city but it’s fun and also interesting as you cross the no man’s land between the two countries.
San Diego is famous across the world for its zoo and Sea World, both of which are major attractions in the US. Most people end up spending a whole day exploring its massive 100 acres which holds thousands of animals, many of which are not found in captivity anywhere else on the planet. Sea World is one of the few places in the world where killer whales are kept in captivity, albeit in a huge pen.
Once you’ve been exhausted by the sights of the city it’s time to visit the dozens of beautiful beaches that dot the coast nearby. The best are Imperial Beach, Coronado, Mission Beach and La Jolla.
Arrival traffic is experiencing airborne delays of 15 minutes or less.
