There are a number of sights considered world class including the People’s Palace and Winter Gardens on Glasgow Green which is a historic building given to improve the lives of its citizens during the Industrial Revolution. The Burrell Collection found in Pollok Country Park has nearly ten thousand works of art donated to the city by the collector, Sir William Burrell. Complementing it is the Kelvingrove Art Gallery, considered one of the finest civic art collections in the world.
For an up to date attraction, the Glasgow Science Centre is a must-see. It has a range of small and large scale attractions including a 125 metre tower that revolves on its base and interactive science displays for children and the young at heart. Finally, for a day out from the city, take a train ride up to Loch Lomond for a boat trip on the iconic waterway.
