There you’ll find restored houses, an ancient fort and the massive Museum of Islamic Civilisation which will tell you everything you wanted to know and more about the Arab culture. The Sharjah Desert Park outside of the city is another great place to spend a day where the whole family can learn about the amazing creatures and plants that survive in the heat of the desert.
Dubai, a stone’s throw from Sharjah, adds the glitz that Sharjah misses. Where else in the world could you expect to ski on real snow when the temperature is over forty degrees? There too you can stand out of the open air observation deck of the world’s tallest building and look down at the world below and you can dine in some of the best restaurants the planet offers.
Further south still is Abu Dhabi, a more relaxed city than Dubai where a night out means a walk in the gentle sea breeze on the corniche, the waterfront promenade where the locals meet to socialise, eat and drink together.
