East of Larnaca you’ll find the holiday resorts of Ayia Napa and Protaras. The beaches there are the finest on the island with near white powdery sand and waters that can fool you into thinking you’re in the Caribbean. Further north of the resorts in Paralimni you’ll find an even more beautiful but quieter beach at Konnos Bay which you can access via a winding road through a national park of pine trees. Ayia Napa is renowned for the lively nightlife which, after getting a bad reputation for drink fuelled violence, has cleaned up its act somewhat.
Outside the resorts you have a beautiful contrast in the Cape Greco National Park where a huge limestone outcrop, covered with many species of wildflowers looks down upon the resorts. The water off the cape is particularly clear and clean with much sea life in it.
