There is so much to see and do around the city that you could spend your whole holiday there. First there’s the Sydney Opera House, considered to be one of the seven wonders of the modern age and a huge step in architectural innovation when first completed. It is complemented by the powerful Sydney Harbour Bridge, another instantly recognisable symbol of the city.
Then there’s Bondi Beach, one of the best known in the world and famous for its sand and great surfing.
For the history of Sydney, head to the area known as The Rocks for an introduction to some of the signs of Sydney’s first settlers including Cadman’s Cottage dating from the early 19th century. Parramatta is another part of the city that has some of its earliest buildings including the first Government House parliament building for the country.
